Preaching at Havenwood Baptist in Hurley
Sunday July 26th we filled the pulpit at Havenwood Baptist Church for the services. Kevin Holland is the founding pastor of this church and is currently making plans to move to another ministry, and was out of town for the week. Thus Havenwood Baptist is currently seeking a pastor to carry on the work there.
Carole provided music accompanyment for the services. I presented our ministry via powerpoint as well as teaching a Bible lesson during Sunday School. In addition I preached for both the AM and Afternoon services. The church has a noon potluck with the afternoon service immediately following.
Pray for Havenwood Baptist Church as well as the other seven churches that are currently seeking a pastor. Our prayer is that God will lead a faithful man of God to each of these works, and see the churches continue to impact their communities with the gospel of Christ.
A Report at Rock Falls Baptist Church
On Sunday evening July 20th we visited at Rock Falls Baptist Church just south of Eau Claire. Dan Whitehead is the pastor of this local church and he and his wife have served their for the past 36 years.
During the service Pastor Whitehead asked me to share a report of our ministry. I was able to give a brief report of the WFBC, including sharing the work of our mission pastors and asking for prayer for the eight churches seeking a pastor at this time.
We thank the Lord for faithful men who serve in many of the smaller communities in our state and have ministered faithfully for many years. The rural nature of this state show the importance of these community churches having an ongoing, fruitful ministry for the cause of Jesus Christ.
Sunday Ministry at Victory Baptist Church in Eau Claire
Sunday July 20th we were involved in ministry at Victory Baptist Church in Eau Claire. Greg Robotti is the pastor of the his local church ministry where he has served as pastor since 2007 for this fledgling church.
I was able to teach for the Sunday School hour and during the morning service I shared our powerpoint presentation of our ministry. We shared the service with staff members from Camp Chetek with Brian Lawson bringing the morning message. The camp staffers have driven down to assist this small church with ministry assistance and special music for the past three weeks.
Pastor Robotti has seen some growth with several new families coming in the past year. Also the church has done some extensive improvements on their church building by updating the heating system, insulating the walls, remodeling the nursery and redirecting the steps to the downstairs. With the help of financial gifts and donated labor from WFBC churches their building has become very functional for their ministry.
Continue to pray for Pastor Robotti as he has been laid off from his construction job due to the economic downturn. He is also continuing to deal with headaches though medication has improved and lessened their occurrence.
