The Twin City Baptist Association, a part of the Minnesota Baptist Association invited me to speak at their annual meeting, Saturday, April 16, 2005. Pastors and their wives as well as a number of laymen gathered at the Faith Baptist Church in St. Paul, Minnesota for the meeting. I preached an opening message on Elijah at Mt. Carmel showing the greatness of God’s power. Following that message I spoke at a breakout session to a number of pastors on “Church Planting in the 21st Century.” I gave a closing message from Hebrews 7 showing the superiority of Christ. During the afternoon program there were also business sessions and a delicious lunch provided by the church. This was a homecoming of sorts for my wife and I, as I had been an assistant pastor at Faith Baptist two years while finishing seminary at Central Baptist Theological Seminary in Minneapolis and two years after that (1972-76). We thank God for our Minnesota brethren.
