On June 12-14 we held our third annual Pastors’ Family Camp at Camp Riverside in Amherst, Wisconsin. We had an attendance of almost 70 with nearly a dozen pastoral families represented. Pastor Jim Stevens did a great job of organizing this annual event, though he suffered an infection on his leg and was in a wheel chair or golf cart most of the time.
Speakers for the various services included Pastor Scott Jones and his father Gordon Jones, Wayne and Carole Vawter and the Stevens children. Pastor Mayhak did a great job leading the singing with assistance by his wife Carolee and Carole Vawter at the keyboard. A number of people provided special music for the services. Char Feddler with the help of many of the ladies provided great meals for those attending.
Activities for the camp included: sand volleyball, frisbee golf, swimming, table games and a lot of personal fellowship. A planned softball game had to be cancelled on Wednesday due to a rain shower.
The fourth annual Pastors’ Family Camp is being planned for June 11-13, 2007. If you would like to attend, put that date on your calendar and look for the details which will be sent out next spring.
