A Sunday at Lone Rock Baptist Church

On Sunday October 1st we were ministering at Lone Rock Baptist Church in New Lisbon. Actually this church is located in the country about five miles from New Lisbon. Pastor Ray Anderson is the pastor of this rural ministry and he and his wife were ministering for the day at a former church. Carole was asked to share her musical skills on the keyboard and I was able to report on the ministry of the WFBC as well as teaching Sunday School and preaching for the morning service. It was a blessing to see this country church filled in the morning service with families and a quite a number of children.

Following the service we had a delightful dinner with Pastor Anderson’s in-laws, the Karl Gehrigs. They are retired from ministry where he served as pastor, church planter and deaf interpreter. He and his wife Judy spent a number of years in South America helping Baptist churches start deaf ministries.

Pastor Anderson has had a fruitful ministry at Lone Rock with many improvements to the building. Also a full auditorium in a rural church shows signs of faithful ministry. It is a blessing to see this local church doing well.
