On December 10th we were in Phillips for the day ministering at Maranatha Baptist Church. The church is currently being pastored by Christian Markle as Interim Pastor, and they are seeking direction for God’s man at this time. We were able to share the ministry of the WFBC in Sunday School as well as giving a Bible lesson. Also Carole and I shared special music and I preached for both the AM and PM services.
Following the morning service we enjoyed good fellowship with the Clarks for lunch and the afternoon with Pastor Markle and his family. It was a good time to share the needs of the work and to get to know this faithful family. They have provided preaching and direction for the church during their time without a pastor.
We were encouraged by the good group of folks that were present for the services. The time of seeking a pastor is always a challenging time for a church and often results in lower attendances and reduced ministry. Our prayers are needed for Maranatha Baptist Church to find the man God has for them as their pastor.
