A New Church Planted in Hillsboro

On April 1st Lighthouse Baptist Church of Hillsboro began holding services under the leadership of Pastor Kevin Lawver. Brother Lawver is a member of Tomah Baptist Church and has been involved in the ministry of Calary Justice Ministry which is a prison ministry to the Wisconsin state prison system. With the help of others he will be able to carry on the CJM ministry while pastoring this new church.

Wisconsin Fellowship of Baptist Churches is partially supporting this new ministry along with a number of area churches. Our goal is to see a self-supporting local church reaching the Hillsboro area including the communities of Elroy, Union Center and Wonewoc.

Pastor Lawver preached the opening services on the April 1st Sunday. He asked me to come and preach on Monday through Wednesday of this past week on the ministry of the local church. So far about 8 families have visited from the various communities in the area. They are utilizing a large house in the center of town which will provide room for about 100 attenders. Pray for good contacts and growth for this new church.
