East Delavan Baptist Holds Ground Breaking Service

Sunday August 26th was the Ground Breaking Service for the East Delavan Baptist Church. Pastor Steve Hollenbeck is the pastor of this growing ministry. They have been actively working for over a year, and finally things are falling place to see classrooms and a church activity center built west of their present building. During the morning service Pastor Hollenbeck had testimonies from key people in the building preparation process, after which I shared a challenge from Nehemiah 3 on the rebuilding of the wall of Jerusalem. Following the closing of the service in the auditorium the congregation gathered outside on the site of the new building for a ground breaking ceremony.

The members of East Delavan Baptist Church are excited about this opportunity for growth in their expanding ministry. In addition to the regular services, the church has a Spanish-speaking ministry led by Assistant Pastor Rick Valdez and a ministry to the deaf. This new building will provide needed space for Sunday School classes and for a larger fellowship hall. Permits are being obtained and they hope to be under construction by the end of September. Pray for God to open needed doors so that project can get underway before winter.
