Wild Rose Baptist Church dedicated their new church building to the Lord on Sunday, October 14th. Pastor Scott Jones is the pastor of this local church ministry. Wild Rose Baptist Church has provided a witness for Christ in their community for 130 years. God has blessed within the past year allowing this new church facility to be built.
Former pastor Robert Griffin led the church to purchase the property on Highway 22 back in the 1970s. At that time a church school was begun and a school building was erected on the site while the church continued to use their older building in town. Last year they began this project and have seen a new church building completed this year on this property.
The dedication Sunday included regular Sunday School and Morning Service with a full auditorium. Following the AM services the church provided a delicious dinner for all who were present. At 2:00 PM they held a Dedication Service with a full auditorium and overflow seating. I brought greetings from the WFBC, and a number of letters of greeting were read from some who could not attend. “Grandma” Sorenson told of living her early married life on this very property where they raised corn and livestock. Pastor Robert Griffin was visiting for the day and brought a timely message from Joshua 4 about the “Memorial Stones.” A number of area churches were present for the service including Pastor Larry Gross and his staff from First Baptist in Waupaca, and Pastor Mark Doberton and family from Faith Baptist in Wautoma. The builders group from Wyldewood Baptist Church in Oshkosh were a great help during the building project and a number of that group were present as well. Following the service the church provided a cake and pie fellowship.
God has richly blessed this faithful congregation with a new building. It will provide a improved base for carrying out their mission to Wild Rose, Wisconsin and the world. We rejoice with Wild Rose Baptist Church in this important milestone of their ministry.
