On Sunday, November 11th Faith Baptist Church of Oconomowoc celebrated 35 years of ministry in that community. Jim Stevens recently become the pastor at Faith following 20 years of ministry by Dave Steuerwald. Founding Pastor Joseph Huebscher was the featured speaker for the day, speaking in Sunday School, the morning service and a special afternoon service.
The families of the church provided a bountiful and delicious carry-in dinner for the noon meal. In all the services special testimonies were given by many former members who attended including John and Linda Kerr from Normal, IL, Randy and Wendi Waltz of Cudahy, former pastor Leonard Frydenlund (who is a current member at Faith). The total attendance for the day numbered close to 100 and revealed the crowded conditions and need for additional facilities.
Much work was done on the building to spruce it up for the day. Also the parking lot was sealed and stripped. The congregation should be commended for their hard work and excellent spirit.
Pastor Stevens has asked his son-in-law John Anderson to assist in the ministry at Faith. We are excited about the future prospects of this local church in Oconomowoc.
