Our only daughter Abigail was married to Christopher Fitzsimmons in a two-ring ceremony on Saturday morning at Calvary Baptist Church in Watertown. We had a wonderful ceremony with many friends coming to share this special day, as well as Abbie’s four brothers and their families coming from out of state. The ceremony included Pastor Loggans and I officiating in addition to a quartet number by Abbie’s brothers, a duet by the couple and both families combined singing in a special number. Abbie’s nieces participated, one as a junior bride’s maid and the other as flower girl. Chris’s father, Galen Fitzsimmons had the dedication prayer and the service was closed out with a ten-minute DVD of pictures of the couple during their growing-up years.
The 10:45 AM ceremony was completed before noon and followed by a delicious brunch in the church fellowship hall. After returning from a Caribbean cruise Chris and Abbie will be living in Ixonia. Chris will be returning for his final college semester at Maranatha and Abbie will be working and taking the semester off before returning to school next fall.
Many folks from Calvary Baptist Church and Rock Lake Baptist Church in Lake Mills helped in set-up, serving and clean-up following the wedding. We appreciate all those who contributed to this special day for our family. As some of you have experienced we are now “empty nesters.”
