Tomah Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Ron Tobin did great job of hosting the 58th Annual Meeting of the Wisconsin Fellowship of Baptist Churches. The theme for the conference “Foundations” was based upon Psalm 11:3. Pastors from all over the state attended, many with their wives and some with entire families, as well as laymen from a number of churches. Dr. Daniel Davey, Pastor of Colonial Baptist Church of Virginia Beach, VA was the featured speaker bringing messages on our biblical foundations: Jesus Christ, the Man of God and grace. Also there were breakout sessions each day with Pastors Sam Horn and Scott Anoil and Dr. Dwayne Morris from Maranatha, along with Carole Vawter and Lori Ring speaking to the ladies.
On Monday night almost 180 people gathered for a delicious dinner in the church fellowship hall. There were at least 15 ministries showing their displays for the meeting. We enjoyed several coffee fellowship times provided by area churches. It is always great to be able to spend time with our preacher brethren and talk “shop.”
Next year’s meeting will be hosted by First Baptist Church of West Bend under the leadership of Pastor Bruce Dunford on September 21-22, 2009.
