We opened the new year of 2009 on Sunday January 4th in ministry at Ladysmith Baptist Church. Pastor Dave Smith was celebrating his 16th year of ministry at the church on this Sunday. Carole provided piano accompanyment for the service and we sang a special number as well. During the Sunday School I taught a Bible lesson as well as presenting the ministry of the WFBC. I also preached for the morning service. Despite fresh snow fall and cold weather we had a good crowd for the morning service.
Pastor Smith is an individual member of the fellowship, but Ladysmith Baptist Church will be considering the option of joining the WFBC at their business meeting the end of January. We would look forward to the possibility of having their ministry as a part of our fellowship of churches.
The Ladysmith Baptist Church building was completely destroyed by a tornado in September 2002 when a F2-F3 storm blew through town west to east on State Highway 8. The Lord provided the means for rebuilding and today this local church enjoys a brand new facility on the same location. God has richly blessing this church and the anticipation for the future is that we might continue to see His hand upon this ministry.
