New Pastor at First Baptist Church

Sunday June 29th First Baptist Church of Waupaca held an Installation Service for their new pastor. Joshua Haney and his wife Hannah and their four children were honored and Brother Haney was officially installed. During the AM Service I preached a challenge to both the church and the new pastor from I Thessalonians 5. At the conclusion of the message head deacon, Marty Shaw, recognized Pastor Haney and had a prayer of dedication.

Following the service the church provided a delicious carry-in dinner for all who were present. It was a great time of fellowship for all. After dinner they held an afternoon service at which time Pastor Haney preached from Psalm 127. The Haneys have been in Waupaca for a month and will be moving into their own house soon.

First Baptist Church was started in 1854 and so has served 160 years as a lighthouse for Christ in the Waupaca community. Pastor Haney is the 34th pastor of the church. The church also holds a key place in the history of the WFBC in that a meeting there in January 1950 of about 20 fundamental Baptists was the foundational meeting of our fellowship of churches. Following that meeting the Conservative Baptist Association of Wisconsin was formed, later to become the Wisconsin Fellowship of Baptist Churches.
