August 4-8 Carole and I participated in the Family Camp for Faith Baptist Church in Beloit. The camp was held at Riverside Bible Camp in Amherst, Wisconsin. Close to 50 members and friends of Faith Baptist gathered for the week. We enjoyed great food prepared by Dave and Char Fiedler along with a number of helpers. Camp activities included a hay rack ride, swimming, tubing, trout fishing, frisbee golf, games, etc. The weather cooperated with a little rain on Monday and sun and warmth the rest of the week.
Each morning I provided Bible studies focused on the family and related issues. Friday morning we had a lively and profitable group discussion on some of the presented topics. In the evenings I preached on five “unlikely” Old Testament characters, showing that God used ordinary people to accomplish His work. It was a restful and encouraging week of fun, food and fellowship. Carole and I enjoyed the week very much.
We were out of state for a family gathering on Sunday August 10th where we attended Freedom Baptist Church in Bloomington, IL. Returning on Sunday evening we made it back to Faith in Beloit where I preached for the evening service.
