170th Anniversary at East Delavan Baptist Church

East Delavan Baptist Church was founded in 1845 and has the distinction of being the second oldest Baptist church in Wisconsin. On Sunday the church celebrated that unique anniversary with the theme “The Battle for the Faith.” Steve Hollenbeck is the pastor of this local church ministry, and he is the 53 pastor of the church having served as the longest pastoral ministry of over twenty-five years.

Dr. Les Ollila brought messages in both the AM Service and the special afternoon service and also spoke in Sunday School. Former Pastor Floyd Hacker was present and recognized. I had the privilege of bringing a report of our the ministry of the WFBC, and Carole and I brought a special music duet during the AM Service as well. Following a carry-in dinner the Afternoon Service was held in the church activity center. During that time I shared a brief history of the battle for truth that the WFBC has faced in its sixty-five year history. It was a wonderful day of celebration and reminder of God’s faithfulness.
